I am always enthused to cut hair. First with my eyes, then with my scissors. This is my art... it's more than just a haircut.

I customize each haircut for each client.  Listening to what each individual has to say before the cut, and having a personal connection before the haircut begins. This lets me get a good visualization of what my client wants. Then my unique scissor cutting skills and creativity flow. My clients are extremely important, and after just a few haircuts it seems each one becomes family to me.  The friendships that come from haircuts last a lifetime.  I LOVE what I do, with the same passion my teacher of this art did.

I apprenticed under my father John J. Pompetti; Master Barber. He unselfishly devoted over 50 years to the industry. He was an educator for so many in our industry, a platform artist, and president of the American Master Barbers Beauticians Association.  He served on the Pennsylvania State Board of Barbers and was the Founder of the Philadelphia Barber Beauty Show from 1957-1984. I could not have had a better teacher. I received my Barber permit in 1981, at age 16, and was licensed 8 months after.  At age 19 I took over my father’s barbershop after he unexpectedly passed away. I kept that business alive for the next 20 years as a sole proprietor.  I am and always will be forever grateful for his exuberance, and blessed that it passed on to me! Every haircut starts off as a blank canvas, with full focus and enjoyment, I hone in on my craft and vow to give each client the best I have.  Paying attention to every detail is how I was taught. After over 40 years behind the chair; I honestly can say it never gets old, only better day after day!  Each day it was an honor to apprentice under my father.

He never just gave a haircut, it was always a work of art - the best haircut he could give. I’m grateful I feel the same way he did… perhaps even a bit more, as I strive to give the best haircuts Not Only for the client but for myself and the honor of my father who gave more than one could imagine to this industry.

I am the barber for the man who wants his hair to look ''spot on'' every day. A man should get into the habit of a monthly or even better a  trim every two weeks. That allows the hairstyle to keep its shape, making for a Well Groomed look each day.  I find that my wash-and-wear Custom Haircuts are the ones I favor the most. The older gentleman, the businessman, the man who wants his hair to fall into place and look good without hardly any styling time at all.

My unique scissor-cutting technique allows the hair as it grows, to keep a perfected shape. This is an art. The Art of Barbering is and has been my passion for 40 years now, and truly, without a doubt, what I look forward to each day!

I'm blessed to have a profession that loves me back!
